Paige Shiver has unexpectedly become the subject of growing social media speculation after her name surfaced in speculation regarding the identity of the staff member involved in the “inappropriate relationship” that lead to the firing of Sherrone Moore.
While the University of Michigan has not officially named the individual, online rumors and social media speculation have centered on Paige Shiver.
Who is Paige Shiver?
Shiver served as the executive assistant to the head coach Sherrone Moore, working in an off-field role that typically involves administrative coordination, recruiting assistance, and team operations.
Shiver was promoted to the position of Moore’s executive assistant in 2024. She previously worked as an on-campus recruiting staffer. Her father, Jeff Shiver, is a longtime scout for the Chicago Bears.
Social media users on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit began identifying her as the potential staffer involved and that she had become pregnant with Moore’s baby.
An Instagram account that allegedly belonged to Shiver was set to private on Wednesday. Her LinkedIn page and X account had also been deactivated after the news of Moore’s firing broke. This sudden digital silence has fueled further speculation among the fanbase and college football observers.
What has Michigan said so far?
Michigan has not addressed the online rumors and has made no reference to Shiver in its formal communications. Neither Moore nor Shiver has issued public statements responding to the speculation. Without on-record confirmation, the narratives circulating across social platforms remain unverified.
University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is making headlines after being fired for having an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member” amid his marriage to wife Kelli Moore.
News broke in December 2025 that Sherrone was let go as the team’s head coach after two seasons when the university found “credible evidence” of the controversial relationship.
“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” athletic director Warde Manuel said in a statement at the time. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”
Prior to the scandal, Sherrone and his wife were welcomed with open arms by the Michigan staff when he became the head coach in January 2024, following six years with the organization as an offensive team coach. (He replaced Jim Harbaugh, who is now coaching the Los Angeles Chargers.)
