Los Angeles – After many years wandering across different teams and a recent period that was not very happy with Toros de Tijuana, Justin Turner – one of the greatest legends of the Los Angeles Dodgers – is preparing to return home.
The 41-year-old former star is reported to be signing a one-day contract with the Dodgers to officially retire in the purple and gold uniform that he has always considered “home.”

This is not just an ordinary administrative formality.
This is the story of a son returning to his family home, a well-deserved tribute to an icon who dedicated nearly a decade of the most beautiful years of his career to the Dodgers.
From a player who was released by the New York Mets in 2014, Justin Turner wrote a fairy tale story in Los Angeles.
He grew from a role player into a cornerstone, a spiritual leader, and the soul of the team. Turner played a major role in helping the Dodgers continuously compete for championships, especially in the 2020 World Series season – the pinnacle of his career.
Even after leaving the Dodgers in 2022, Turner played for the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, and most recently Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican League, but his heart has never left Los Angeles.
He has frequently expressed his desire to end his career with the Dodgers – the place where he became a star, became a champion, and became an idol for millions of fans.
“Dodgers will always be my home,” Turner once shared. And now, that dream seems about to become reality.
The recent period with Toros de Tijuana did not bring much joy to Turner. At 41 years old, playing in the Mexican league helped him satisfy his passion for baseball, but it was clearly not the place where he wanted to close his illustrious career.
Returning to the Dodgers to sign a one-day retirement contract is seen as a perfect, meaningful, and emotional ending.
Every time he returns to Dodger Stadium, Turner still always receives warm welcomes from the fans. His signature beard, red hair, number 10 jersey, and indomitable warrior spirit have been deeply engraved in the memory of an entire generation of Dodgers fans.
Not only talented on the field, Turner is also a role model of leadership, a big brother to young players, and a compassionate heart off the field with numerous charitable activities through the Justin Turner Foundation.
Many believe that after officially retiring, Turner will continue to stay with the Dodgers organization as a hitting coach, youth player development advisor, or even a front office member. No matter the position, “JT” will always be an inseparable part of the Dodgers family.
This is a beautiful moment in baseball: a legend returning home, embraced with open arms by the team and fans. When that day officially comes, Dodger Stadium will surely stand up and applaud nonstop for the son who has returned.
Welcome home, Justin Turner. This will always be your home.
