Kyren Lacy’s Father Makes Horrible Accusation While Taking Direct Shot At Fired LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly

It seems like everybody is jumping on the chance to bash Brian Kelly.

LSU Athletics made the decision to separate from football head coach Brian Kelly effective immediately. The Tigers fell to 5-3 this season and 2-3 in SEC play following a home loss to No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday night.

Kyren Lacy, a former wide receiver for LSU who tragically passed away after taking his own life, is being brought up after his father took to social media to speak out against Kelly.

The father of former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy, Kenny, suggested that Brian Kelly never reached out to the family following his son’s tragic death.

Lacy played at LSU under Kelly for three seasons from 2022 to 2024.

“This dude [Frank Wilson] actually came to sit down with our family and showed us some real genuine love when my son died along with a couple other coaches. I didn’t even get a call or text from that dude in the back [Brian Kelly]. Must be nice to get paid millions to get your walking papers…let’s get is Coach Frank.”

It should be noted that Kelly did mention Lacy on other occasions.

Kelly said in a media session that Lacy would be fondly remembered by his teammates.

“I’ll remember him as somebody that had a love for the game, a love for being a Tiger and was a guy that played with great emotion. When you think of Kyren, you’re going to smile most of the time because of the way he handled himself. He was a guy that was full of energy and I think a lot of his teammates will remember him that way as well,” Kelly said.

LSU started the season 4-0 but has lost three of its last four games. The team got exposed by Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M. Not only that, the program is 14th in the SEC in total offense with 355.5 yards per game this season.

That was more than enough for LSU to part ways with Kelly.

Penn State fired James Franklin after the team’s third straight loss earlier this month. He received a $49 million buyout. The potential buyout for former LSU head coach Brian Kelly could rival Franklin’s.

After the Tigers made the decision Sunday night to fire Brian Kelly, both sides are still negotiating the financial terms of the split.

Kelly was in his fourth year of a 10-year, $100 million deal with LSU. That deal paid him $95 million, 90% of which was guaranteed money. His buyout of $50-plus million will be the second-most ever paid to a college football coach.

College football insider Ross Dellenger further added that LSU will still pay Brian Kelly his $800,000/month salary while the terms of the buyout are finalized. Kelly will also continue to make over $26,000 per day from LSU over the next six years.

Kelly, who previously coached Notre Dame for 12 years, finishes his three-plus-year tenure with a 34-14 record.
