NFL Fans Float Wild Conspiracy Theory Explaining How Hailee Steinfeld Is Responsible For Josh Allen’s Struggles In 2025

Some NFL fans are convinced that Josh Allen’s recent struggles on the field have something to do with his new wife, Hailee Steinfeld.

The reigning NFL MVP hasn’t played up to his usual standards through Buffalo’s first six games. Since throwing for 394 yards and two touchdowns in a thrilling Week 1 comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens, Allen has gone five straight games without a 300-yard outing.

Josh Allen was shaky in a stunning Week 5 home loss to the New England Patriots. On Monday night, he had one of his worst games in recent memory against the Atlanta Falcons, throwing for just 180 yards, two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.

During a recent interview with ESPN’s Marty Smith, the 29-year-old quarterback reflected on tying the knot with Hailee Steinfeld in the offseason and called her the “most fulfilling” thing in his life right now.

“Getting married was the coolest, it was the most important day of my life,” Allen said. “All that other stuff is just, kinda, cherry on top…Maybe I am more than a football player.”

The timing of that interview, coupled with his recent on-field performances, have fans convinced that Allen is merely struggling because he’s far more focused on his marriage than football:

“Kind of wish he wouldn’t have been that vulnerable and honest. Gives me less hope for a Super Bowl,” a fan said.

“Maybe that is part of the problem on the field? I’m a huge Josh and Bills fan just wondering,” a user wrote.

“17 needs to get his head back in the game. you can focus on being more than a football player when you retire bro,” wrote another.

“Josh Allen after marrying Hailee Steinfield,” a fan wrote with an image of Vegeta hugging Trunks from an episode of Dragon Ball.

“This interview sets off big time alarm bells,” a user added.

“Real maybe, distracted 💯. He’s not laser focused like he was before getting married. He talks like he’s been in the league for 15 years and is ready to move on. Great for him, the bills not so much,” another commented.

Worry not, Allen and Buffalo Bills fans. This conspiracy theory about Steinfeld playing a role in his struggles on the field will go away once Allen regains his MVP-like form.

Too Early For Bills Fans To Worry About Josh Allen

Some fans were concerned that Allen suffered a hand injury after being sacked in Monday’s loss to the Falcons. However, the reigning MVP told reporters that he’s not hurt and is playing at full health.

It’s also too early to worry about Allen and the Bills. No quartreback plays at a Superman-level for all 17 games. And nobody was blaming Brittany Mahomes during the Kansas City Chiefs’ sluggish 0-2 start.

Allen actually holds an impressive 103.1 passer rating through six games, the second-best mark of his career thus far. Injuries on Buffalo’s offense haven’t helped, either, so let’s wait a few weeks before hitting the panic button on Allen.
