Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed suffered a scary injury during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
The serious incident occurred on the second play from scrimmage after he caught a short bubble screen pass.

Linebacker Demario Davis delivered a heavy hit to Reed’s head and neck area as he turned upfield. Consequently, the young receiver crumpled to the turf and remained face down for a long, tense moment. Medical personnel rushed out to the field to immediately attend to the visibly shaken player.
Trainers carefully placed Reed onto a backboard to fully stabilize his head and neck. Meanwhile, worried players from both teams took knees and surrounded their carted teammate in absolute solidarity. The Packers officially ruled him out for the rest of the game with a neck injury.

Following Jayden Reed’s scary neck injury against the New York Jets, the Green Bay Packers must quickly adjust their offensive game plan. Head coach Matt LaFleur will likely shift rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden into Reed’s vacant starting slot position now that he is out for the game.
Consequently, veteran receiver Christian Watson must carry a much larger target share on the outside for quarterback Jordan Love. Green Bay will also rely heavily on wideout Skyy Moore and running back MarShawn Lloyd to execute their short bubble screens.
